  21. Qmodem 4.52 is an oldie, dating back well into the days when
  22. Qmodem was shareware.  Yours is registered, right?  :)

  24. Alas there were always bugfixes coming along at the drop of the hat
  25. and at one point program author John Friel was releasing new patches
  26. more frequently than Chuck Forsberg was releasing DSZ updates.

  28. Fortunately both DSZ and Qmodem have stabilized and Qmodem has gone
  29. commercial.  If you like Qmodem (and I do) I strongly recommend you
  30. obtain the new commercial version of it. There's been many enhancements
  31. and improvements since the shareware days.  132-col scrollback works
  32. in the commercial vers.   There's also a Windows version (also
  33. commercial).

  35. You might also look in the shareware distribution channels, as there was
  36. a later version of the shareware Qmodem called a "testdrive" version
  37. which I believe was the last shareware before the program went
  38. commercial.  However, all the Qmodem shareware versions are quite old.
  39. My recommendation is that you upgrade your software.

  41. Just a closing comment, DSZ author Chuck Forsberg also has a commercial
  42. flavor of his famous DSZ, marketed under the name of Professional YAM.
